Oatmeal Again & Fasting? Me?
Hey everyone!
I’m trying something new with my diet these days. Just a little experiment based on some ideas I’ve gotten from a new eBook I’m reading: Eat Stop Eat by Brad Pilon.
I also share one more oatmeal recipe with you today. I love oatmeal, can you tell?

Interesting video GWNN & thanks for your honest report,
I have been doing similar to you for a good month now & feel if not better, eating when i am hungry only.
I have been doing a hard run on only 2 x coffees first thing in the morning, my conclusion is we can play tricks on our mind. i would get up drink two coffee first whist reading emails & facebook 30 or 45 mins later would say to my self ok run time get my ipod drive there & run!, then eat about hour later, ok at first it was difficult now its fcuking great :)
take care & happy training.

Hmm, I am not quite so sure that the fasting thing is the best option. Seems as though it would start to mess around with your metabolism especially if you start skipping a day without food.
As you also mentioned it seemed as though you would have a lot less energy to get yourself throughout the day. I just don’t see it actually working considering I’ve always read that small meals throughout the day is the way to go since it keeps your metabolism up and all that good stuff.
But then again, I’ve always been able to eat whatever kind of food I wanted and never have to worry about gaining any weight whatsoever. Meaning it’s somewhat difficult for me to understand why people need to be so regimented on counting their calorie intake. I would always just eat whatever I wanted and I would pretty much never go over 185lbs so I am lucky in that department.
Although I am interested in hearing how it works out for you both for weight loss and energy levels.

yah, some can do that, I used to be able to when I was a teenager. Not anymore. I don’t think I can do a whole DAY full of fasting but I can definitely go longer than three hours, and usually longer than that even when I first wake up… so we’ll see how it goes. This book is really interesting, lots of contradictory points to what you just said, and some research to back it up. A definite interesting read. I’m still waiting to decide what my final conclusion is. Thanks for the comment!

If you’re worried about going to bed hungry, just go from dinner to dinner the next day for your fast. I’ve been doing EatStopEat for a little over a month now and it’s been working great.
