Dumbbell High Pulls at Home
Today is a lifting day.
I still have DOMS in some areas.
How weird.
Anyway, I did Day 3 of my latest program today, which is FullBody Compound Moves in a SuperCircuit done, as usual, at home.
mm mm!! Delicious!
I also talk about one of my favourite moves and where I got this particular move from!!
Plus, I repeat for anyone who’s missed it, what my favourite post-workout meal is!
So, check out the link in the sidebar for Mike Geary’s book. Really, it rocks. I wouldn’t lie to ya! :-)
Have a great day and see ya soon!

I could never remember what that was called. I normally do those with the bands when I’m bored watching tv.

High pulls are a classic assistance exercise for olympic weight lifting.
It’s an explosive movement that trains the tripple extension (hip, knee and ankle) like in the clean or the snatch.
An example can be seen here http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/OlympicLifts/HighPull.html

thanks matthias… and yes, I forgot to mention its an explosive move (and darn hard to demo when holding a camera)… I personally do explode up but don’t drop the weights like in the example (I just return to starting position in a slow and controlled motion), and I don’t think you have to do it that way on the downward but its a great example nonetheless…thanks for sharing!
