Plyometrics
Hey everyone!! How’s your week going?
Mine is fan-freaking-tastic (except for the weather, that is!)… I decided to get a little creative today and we’re FINALLY going to answer one of my loyal viewer’s requests to talk a little bit about Plyometrics (Hi Jarret!).
I do a (half-assed) demo of some plyometric moves you can do around your home …
So, as you can see by my demos, Plyometrics are mostly bodyweight-oriented exercises.
And you guys know what that means!! I’m going to tell you that if you are interested in this kind of stuff, you REALLY should check out Craig Ballantyne’s programs.
He really IS the King of the Bodyweight exercise, and that includes Plyometrics. He has tons of these kinds of moves in his book.
Please do yourself a huge favour and get his book if you want more tips and ideas about Plyometrics.
Craig Ballantyne’s Book “Turbulence Training” can be had by clicking HERE!

Oh! A fitness adventure :)
I like it when you take us for little trips around your hood :)

Thanks once again for the video! :)
I need to make myself a workout schedule and get started on it pretty quick here since its already approaching 90 degree days. Summer is pretty much already here.
Also, what is the difference between plyometrics and isometrics? Are isometrics just a constant force being applied?

yes. exactly. an example of an isometric move is to stand with your hand against the wall and apply constant, unchanging pressure to the wall with your hand. pretty boring, but definitely has its place.

Hey there beautiful! LOVE your demonstration! My trainer used to have me do those Burpees, yup, they’re tough, but great! Sorry I haven’t been around much. Life has gotten in my way. But I’m tryin’ my darndest to get back. HUGS!
P.S. Hope you find a solution for your hamstrings. So sorry they are still hurting you. :(

hey, I just found you on twitter can’t remember how.. but, anyway I just realized my crazy addiction to sometimes bouncing on the bosu ball at the gym is plyometrics.. I think, and I just started playing around bouncing for fun!! great blog, and tips.. I work out a lot too but, have a sprained ab( hurt my transverse muscle) from too many abs, and the rotater machine ughghghg. so, I have had to slow down a little which has not been much fun. In reading your tweets, what proteins do you eat.. as it seems all veggies, fruits.. just wondering.. since I sometimes don’t feel like eating meat when I work out a lot but, I know I need lean organic protein to build muscle. glad I found your blog.. thanks for sharing,

hmmm… I do eat a lot of eggs, hard boiled, soft boiled, fried without oil, on salads, blah blah blah, lots of yogurt, lots of raw milk cheese & cottage cheese, TONS of nuts and seeds, all of that is protein, quinoa, brown rice, all that…. make sure you mix nuts or beans with grains to make a complete protein tho…!!! :-) what about homous? made with chickpeas!! protein in those! what about snacking on snap peas? protein in those too!! :-) don’t be too stressed about ‘finding’ protein, its in a lot of stuff!!! best of luck, feel free to post here anytime, I check in often.
