Working Out with an Injury?
Hey gang!!
Well, my cheat day was a roaring success … too much so perhaps!!
I catch you up on just how much ‘off the program’ misbehaviour I got up to … and admit to the fact that I came home with what is sometimes referred to as a “UPI” (unidentified party injury)…
However, this is not “unidentified” … I know full well how I did it!!
Now the question remains: how am I going to work out with this injury?
Thankfully its not a larger injury (cuz it very well could have been).
But stay tuned, I’ll let you know how it goes over the next few healing days.

Your finger looks nicely bruised. Is it just bruised or have you strained it as well? To help with the bruise and swelling keep icing the finger.
If you’ve strained your finger, a good tip I’ve picked up is to wear a winter glove to bed – that way you’re keeping the finger warm and promoting blood flow to the area whilst you sleep, rather than let the finger get cold.
For workout ideas, depends on what exercises or split you were looking to do. You can do bodyweight leg work; squats, lunges, split squats, step ups, single leg RDL’s etc.
Or, you could grab a dumbbell and do some unilateral work with the good hand. It’s not like a session or two using one side will have a huge effect and it’s better than further straining your finger.

Hi Jon. Thanks for the comment. I have no idea if its sprained or just bruised… all I know is that it hurts!! LOL. I’m not much of a whiner, so I don’t run off to the doctor for every little thing, so its unlikely I’ll ever bother to go for this either. Time will heal it. Actually, even though its hurting to type this, it is feeling a little better this evening, so I do have high hopes for a full-body workout tomorrow morning as planned!! thanks for the tips. I think I just need to stop all this typing and let it rest for the evening. I’m sure I’ll be fine soon enough!!

I’m glad you cleared up what a “UPI” is, because I swear I had no idea when you tweeted it and I was too embarrassed to ask, ha!
Oh God, I enjoyed this vlog so much, haha :)
On a serious(er) note, though, I hope you’re finger’s okay. It looks exactly how mine did when I broke it many years ago – bruised, painful, and unable to bend very much. I’d say, “Oh, but if it was broken, you’d know,” but I didn’t know. I thought I’d just sprained it, but as it turns out it was broken and now it’s crooked. Lovely.
I was playing dodge ball, by the way.
I freaking hate that game with every fiber of my being.
ANYWAY, don’t push it too hard tomorrow :( Take care of your hand and let us know how it goes!

HAHAHA!! thanks chick. I don’t think its broken, its slowly feeling better bit by bit today. But I will take it easy tomorrow. Dodge Ball!! Who the hell needs a kick in the pants for inventing THAT game anyway??! LOL
