How To Survive The Holidays (without blowing your nutrition plan)
Hey everyone!! Great day today… I’m declaring my computer traumas to be at an end.
FINALLY!
Hey, it only took HP …what? NINE MONTHS of tech support visits and phone calls to get it figured out, right? That’s not unreasonable, is it?
But never mind all that, I’m done with giving it space in my brain… MOVING ON!! (and sooo relieved to be able to finally say that!)
Today I’m here to share with you what I do to keep my consumption under control over the holidays.
Let’s face it, there are treats and temptations freaking EVERYWHERE during the holidays, am I right?
Yes, I am right.
… and hey, I’m as human as the next guy. If I go to a party and there are treats near ME and I’m hungry, darn right I’ll want to eat them.
Sooooo, I don’t ever go to a party hungry! I go feeling STUFFED. And that solves everything.
But, how to get stuffed without blowing it before you ever GET to the party?
THAT is the trick, my friends!
Check out my awesome, healthy and low-cal tricks to avoid the goody table, or at least get something moderately nutritious and filling into my stomach when I’m in a rush and just need to chow down and get out the door fast to the next event:
And as promised, here’s some of my previous posts about Oatmeal:
Cottage Cheese Oatmeal Pancakes
Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Nuts and Honey
By the way, here’s the links to the guys that saved my butt when the big computer exploded (not literally, but it did crash pretty hard). I owe these guys big time for being so extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend either of them if you need someone smart to help you with your technology.
Tyler Ingram, you rock!
Stew Brennand, you rock too!
Oh, and here’s the guys that saved my data before the big scrub and re-install happened: London Drugs (yep, believe it, they have a kick ass computer department, their technician was fantastically professional and helpful… and they didn’t cost an arm and a leg either).
So, in honour of these computer professionals rocking it out when I needed them the most, here’s a rocking Workout Song of the Day for you:
C’mon, who doesn’t think Billy Idol totally ROCKS??
This is a great workout song, whether you’re in cardio mode or weight training mode. Great driving beat AND angst. Best of both worlds.
Give ‘er!
BILLY IDOL – Rebel Yell
Don’t forget, if you love it, go get it: Click the Buy button on the player widget and Amazon will have you set up in no time.
That’s it for today!! Over ‘n out ’til next time!
Have a fit, fun and fantastic day!

Hi Lady,
Great post as always and great tips… Here in the Netherlands we do have Larabars as well, which are so delish… Anyways I just heard about a new brand in Canada (lucky you) which has some great bars as well, so maybe you could give them a try and enjoy them… I did contact them already, but unfortunately they don’t ship overseas and they don’t have any plans to expand, ahhrrggg.. So let me know how they turn out… Here’s the link to the GloBakery site: http://globakery.com/

Thanks Chaymaa. I tend to not order over the internet because of shipping charges that are usually attached (cuz it gets expensive, and also cuz I like to support my local guys first) and unfortunately they are in Ontario which is all the way across the country from me. There’s lots of local yummy bars here in Vancouver too, but I’ll keep my eyes open should they ever start distributing to stores in my area!! :-) thanks for the awesome tip to anyone else out there that doesn’t mind ordering and paying shipping for stuff like this, they DO look awesome!!

Terrific tips. I know we have a lot of Amy’s and Larabars here, and we do have equivalent items for the rest. Headed to see the post on oatmeal & eggs!
