Working Out and Multi-tasking? Tsk, tsk!
Today’s post (or shall I say “rant”) is inspired by something I saw earlier today.
It was ridiculous.
Someone “working out” (yeah right, that’s what she was doing) and trying to do actual paperwork at the SAME TIME!
Seriously?
Where’s YOUR mind when you’re working out?
Never mind that, where’s all the parts of your BODY?
With you on the task at hand, which should be getting a good HARD workout?
Or on some other task because you’re trying to save time?
Are you REALLY saving time?
Listen, we’ve talked about this a LOT on this blog…
If finding the time to workout is a huge issue for you, then you need to find the RIGHT resource to help you get a good hard workout done in a VERY short amount of time, right?

You’re so spot-on with this! I hate multi-tasking.
Heck, I can’t even listen to music while lifting weights. It has to be silence or I’ll settle for just the background noise of the gym. You’ve got 100kg on a barbell balanced across your shoulders while you put an enormous amount of stress on half of all the muscle mass in your body and you want to multi-task, I don’t think so!

thanks Elliott.. I have been known to workout in silence but I find that music actually feeds me, motivates me and makes me want to move harder, faster, stronger…!! Paperwork, however… um. No.
I hopped on one of those ridiculous stationery bikes not long ago that had a TV screen bolted to it, and grumbled to myself for 5 minutes trying to figure out how to TURN IT OFF… before I realized you CAN’T. As long as the pedals are turning, the TV stays on. How RIDICULOUS!!!!! Thankfully, I rarely use those machines. I was just on it warming up waiting for my workout buddy to show up.
