Timing Your Training For Optimum Results
What time of day do you usually work out?
First thing in the morning?
Lunch hour?
Right after work?
Before bed?
Sure, the time you’ve chosen might fit into your work or life schedule the best, but does it fit well into your “Personal Energy Level’s” schedule?
Might it be time to reassess and pick a better time?
Can you choose a time where you can pour even more energy into your workout instead of just phoning it in cuz that’s all the steam you’ve got in you at that time of day?
Plus, did you know that everything you’ve ever heard about training at a certain time of day being better for fat loss or muscle building is pretty much just a load of crap?
Yep, the time that works best for YOU personally is the time of day that will get YOU your optimum results.
Don’t be fooled by the marketers.
Doing cardio first thing in the morning does not burn any more calories than the same cardio later in the day.
Same deal with strength training for muscle building.
Get ‘er done when YOU have the MOST energy to pour into it and not only will you enjoy your workouts more (cuz it’s really no fun to hit a workout with zero energy to contribute to it, right?) but you’ll be able to do your BEST during your workout which means being able to work harder which in turn means better results.
And that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?
Doing the work to GET THE BEST RESULTS.
Have a fit, fun and fantastic day.

Jackie,
I generally work out after my daughter goes to bed, so some time starting between 7 and half past. I used to in the morning before work as shes up I would rather have daddy daughter time then, plus my wife can stay in bed (she deserves it).
The evening works for me as im usually on a high from playing with my daughter but there is the risk that if my day at work was that bad no amount on anything will get me to move. That was why I like morning sessions especially in the summer. Not only are you fresh and unaffected by the rigor of a days work but also something about getting outside early in the morning (aprox 5) makes me feel alive. (It helps that I live in the countryside so my morning runs are along a river bank) but has the opposite effect in winter where there is no where to go.

Well said.
I’ve had a lot of people procrastinating about getting into shape use “but isn’t it best to work out first thing in the morning? I can’t because of reason-xyz”… train when it suits YOU, forget about what’s supposed to be “best”.
Personally I like to train mid-afternoon or early evening.

Personally I prefer mornings. I think it’s the best time, because you can get the physical energy from the workout and that can help you with the daily tasks. However, not everybody can train in the morning, so it’s really about find the time that suits you and your schedule the best.
I would avoid training in the evening, because body is not supposed to have any sort of intense physical activity in this time. We are programed to rest in the evening not train.

Vaclav, that’s not true. Did you even WATCH my video? It depends on the person, and when that person’s energy levels are highest, what works best for THEM as an individual. There are NO “right” nor “wrong” time to workout. Besides the fact that any workout at any time of day is better than no workout at all.
