Skinny Jeans? Not Anymore!
Whoa!
I had a little shock today.
I tried on an old pair of jeans.
They’re my “skinny jeans”.
I bought them just after I lost that big chunk of weight a few years ago.
They’re the pair I used to use as my benchmark …
“If these fit me then everything is good”
At least I USED to think they were my skinny jeans.
UH OH!!! THEY DON’T FIT ANYMORE!
Hey, strength training goes a LOOOONG way to getting that fit, toned look instead of just that “skinny fat” look that dieting alone can cause.
My weight hasn’t changed, but boy oh boy … the shape of my body SURE HAS!
More muscle, and even less fat. Of course those jeans don’t fit anymore. They’re too damn BIG!
Make sure your weight-loss efforts are well-rounded.
Eat right, but make sure you get that body moving … often!
And lift heavy stuff. Seriously!
Not getting any strength training in yet?
Or, getting in plenty of lifting, but not sure you’re doing it right?
Just flat out don’t know how or where to get started?
Start where I started.
Mike Geary kicks ass and his program “The Truth About Six Pack Abs” was instrumental in helping me finally “get it” …

This is so true. There’s a real difference between just losing weight (skinny fit) and changing your body shape (toned and athletic).
Also is that a picture of stonehenge on the wall behind you?

Hi Jackie, just wanted say great video. This is an important message. To be going in the right direction you must add the fitness aspect to your weight loss program. It’s wonderful to start caring enough about yourself to want to lose unhealthy weight but you want to incorporate a good fitness program into your lifestyle too. Sure seeing bubble butt (good for you Jackie) results takes time but it’s worth it.
Any way I wanted to say thanks for being so candid and sharing your personal experiences. I’m impressed with how much you share, your honesty and the quality of information. You’re the best :)

I’ve had the same experience myself within the last few months. I have some jeans I bought back in March 2007 for a Napa weekend trip with the girls. Actually, 2 pairs of such jeans. Very tight. I’m the same weight now as I was then, or maybe even a pound or two up. Normally I just can’t even fit into those jeans. Or I wasn’t able to a year ago. Not comfortably, anyhow. But this past spring/summer/fall I stepped up my triathlon training. More intensity. More volume. And added regular strength training. Tried those jeans on a few months ago and they were too big. OMG. I went out and bought a pair that was smaller, they are now loose on me as well. Crazy. But I’m still a good weight. BF is down to 13%. Lean and cut. Feeling great. Exercise is the best.
