Win A Gymboss Timer
Hey gang!! I hope you’ve all been keeping well (and keeping up with the workouts and other healthy stuff).
Today, we’re doing something ALL NEW here on the ol’ blog.
Yep, I’ve never done a giveaway before, but it’s about time I did, doncha think?
I use my Gymboss Timer for all my “Hot at Home” workouts, from strength training and circuit training, all the way to my interval and steady-state cardio sessions, both indoors and outdoors.
They’re GREAT, not only for making sure you stay on track with your workouts, but for timing other stuff around the house (I use mine to time my 3 minute eggs! lol).
Anyway, I digress…
Gymboss Timers are super simple to use, very versatile and extremely affordable … I love the darn things.
And this week, my friends at Gymboss have agreed to let me give away a timer to one of my friendly followers.
If you’d like to WIN an EXCELLENT timer to time your workouts… or your 3 minute eggs, give the video a watch then follow the instructions to be eligible.
Contest closes on Friday at midnight PDT (that’s pacific time for anyone not up on their timezone acronyms).
Oh!! I almost forgot!
You can choose the color of Gymboss Timer you’d like to receive by clicking on the link below and checking out the latest colors available (also, please note your color preference in your comment).
Gymboss Timers – Improve Your Workouts
I’m really looking forward to hearing your ideas!!
Get your comments in to the comments box below and I’ll get in touch with you directly early next week if you’re the lucky winner!
I’ll also post the winner’s name here in this original blog post once the contest closes so everyone who entered will know the result.
Good luck to everyone!!
Have a fit, fun and fantastic day.

I would use the timer for my HIIT that I am incorporating into my workouts. I am an older woman going through menopause and I need my body back.
I guess I could also use it to time my husband when I think he gets to talk too much!!! ;-)
I love your blog and how everything is so real!!

Hi. For training purposes I would use this in a couple of ways. I would definitely time my telephone pole interval sprints to see my interval sprint speeds. Also, I do various routines that are timed, like plank runs etc. Non workout use, I’d time my blender time for smoothies.

I would use a gymboss for my HIIT training that I do at home. I would probably also use it to time my little boy in the shower…he takes FOREVER! HAHA!

Hi. I started to jog and workout about two months ago. This week, I have
also started to ride my bike again! I only have a watch to check my time…
and it sucks! So getting a Gymboss timer ( for FREE !!!!) will realy help! Otherwise…
I could use it to time my son in the shower… getting him to move his ass in there!!!
:-)

Jackie,
I could use one of Your Gymboss Timers to easily keep accurate time of my mile “runs”. (I am afraid they still involve some walking.)
At home I am afraid my use as well would be that involved in the kitchen (re cooking activities, just to be absolutely clear).
Just F Y I from a dirty old man; You are HOT!; and I have never been THAT attracted to redheads (I know, my bad).
I am intrigued by Your lack of a “Canadian accent”.
Just for the sake of at least a little background, coming up on my 71st birthday, an ectomorph always in very good health, at 5’11, 160 lbs, I have NEVER been able to “muscle up”. I am afraid I have become discouraged as to ever dropping 2″ from my waist – to return to 30″ – and ADDING approximately 4″ to my chest – to reach 42″. However, as I stated, I have always enjoyed very good health, so should not be TOO envious when I see photographs of men with “six packs”, gorgeous pectorals, impressive “guns”, and well defined legs.
Anyway,
You Go Girl!
Don.

I would use the Gymboss for a variety of things. Interval training…Minutes on and off. Cardio, sprints, kettlebell training. And? Let’s not forget stretching. I currently use my iPhone and it would be so much easier to use a *gadget* like the Gymboss. (Yes, Jackie, I am that gadget girl.) Also…I would use it to time meals. Especially my breakfasts….oatmeal and eggs in particular. I am currently studying toward my PT certification and this would be a great addition for my future clients. I had a major setback recently and had to delay it when I suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury). After 3 months, I am able to exercise once again and hit the books as well. I always find you and your blog inspiring and motivating.
Thanks, Jackie.
From another mature gal,
Donna

hahaha, thanks Patti.. I love your non-workout idea… too funny!! Thanks for your comment.

Hey Jonathan… that’s a great idea to time your telephone pole sprints… I never thought of timing something that you’ve already got a pre-determined ‘stopping’ spot. Great idea for the non-workout timer use too! (but tell me, what are ‘plank runs’? I’m dying to know)
June 18th, 2013 at 11:25 am
I would use the gymboss to time my interval training, circuit and strength training on my timed weeks and to time my speed for climbing stairs. For non-workout uses, I would time my husband how long it takes him to talk about car stereo systems without a pause. Then time myself when talking about nutrition and fitness and then compare the results to see who talks more about their hobbies.
As for the color, any color will do it except pink. Thank you! :-)

HAHA Melissa… there must be some of this going around with sons in the shower. check out Marie’s comment above yours!! Hilarious!

haha, Marie, I just said this to Melissa above you… there must be something going around when it comes to sons in the shower … what is it with that anyway? they don’t even have to shave their legs… now, DAUGHTERS I could understand. But sons…?

Thanks for the ideas Don… and the compliment. You don’t think I have a Canadian accent? Most of my other American friends do. I’m West Coast tho, so we’re definitely less pronounced than east coast.

Donna, wow, good job working towards your PT cert. Sorry to hear about the TBI. My dad had one many years ago. He never recovered fully and is now living in a home for the severely disabled. Glad you were able to recover and are back at exercise and studying. Congrats on that. (hug)

Haha, Liliana… sounds like we’re all going to be timing our loved ones talking or showering! This is hilarious! Thanks for the comment!

For training I would use it when I’m boxing and skipping rope. When I’m strength training instead of counting reps I time my sets. It would also be great for my runs and when I’m doing speed work. Other than that I could use a timer for when I’m doing my hair color.

Awesome!! Thanks Terryl!!

I recently started doing interval training on my exercise bike, so it would definitely help me! Also I just bought a 2.5 lb weighted hula hoop so I could use it instead of my clunky kitchen timer. Other than using timers for exercise I sometimes will set it for a predetermined amount of time every day for a week and purge my closet, organize kitchen cabinets, etc. It really helps to break down an otherwise looming project into little chunks of time.
P.S. Thanks so much for your speedy reply re: marine phytoplankton. I did reply but received a message that it did not forward for some reason. Anyway, thanks for all you do to inspire us to lead a healthier lifestyle :) (Also I love your “no fluff” delivery, sister!)

Awww… thanks Donna… I appreciate the compliment. Great ideas for the timer. :-)

I use a timer to time my interval/circuit trainer! I would also use it for baking :) COOKIES! :):)
June 18th, 2013 at 10:28 pm
well, as long as they’re organic and healthy cookies, I guess I can’t object! ;-)

As a group fitness instructor and personal trainer a gym boss would be an excellent tool to have as my time based workout would be easy to monitor as use systems like HIIT, tabatas, circuit. As I live on the other side of the world in little Mauritius island tools like the gym boss are hard to come by .

Thanks Fran. :-)

I would use the Gymboss on a daily basis for my home HIIT workouts, and I would also use it to time the “Timeouts” my little boys get when they misbehave while mommy is working out. They love to make mischief while mommy exercises because they know I don’t like to stop in the middle of a work out (unless of course their safety is in danger!)
June 19th, 2013 at 10:08 am
Hi again,
I just posted that I would use the Gymboss to time my home HIIT workouts as well as Timeouts when my boys misbehave while I work out, but after thinking about it, a better use would be to use the Gymboss to time my boys in an obstacle course or race that I set up for them. That way I am encouraging them to exercise instead of discouraging them. Thanks!
June 19th, 2013 at 10:25 am
That IS a better idea!! Thanks Tiff.
June 19th, 2013 at 10:35 am
I think I would use the Gymboss not just for my intervals but I would slip it into a ziplock bag and take it with me when I kayak or SUP so I could track my stroke efficiency. It is also a great little device for those of us who hate wearing our glasses when we workout but need them to see the stopwatch.
I think I would like the pink one…keep the guys from running off with it.
Thanks

Thanks Heather… those are great ideas… and I love your reason for your colour choice!! LOL!!!
June 20th, 2013 at 12:30 pm
I have been wanting to try a Gymboss. I’d use it for timed workouts like planks, mountain climbers, all the high intensity floor workouts to ensure I get the most out of them. For non-workouts, I’d set the timer to help me focus time on doing important things around the house without distraction – like writing and cleaning – so I don’t turn on the computer (main source of distraction).
June 20th, 2013 at 12:32 pm
Great ideas. Thanks Kerri (yah, this computer is a major distraction, alright! LOL)
June 20th, 2013 at 4:43 pm
I would use it for my Interval training, tabatas and circuit training, instead of having to use my computer as a timer… Whwn not working out, I would use it when cooking (also eggs!) or baking and finally to incorporate 7 minutes of meditation into my daily routine.
Thanks!

Thanks Emily… good ideas (as long as the baking isn’t with evil white flour or sugar! lol)
