Perfect timing!

Not only did I recently get a question about motivational workout music for one of my “Your Questions Answered… On Video” features over on the “Hot at Home” site, but I’ve also recently updated my own workout music playlist.

At first I culled my big 600+ songs playlist down to JUST my very favorites.

Choose Music That Moves You

That worked out to be about 100 songs, and I called it my ‘Best of the Best’ playlist. I shared it with you here a few months ago.

However, I found that my ‘Best of the Best’ playlist was a little lacking just because there were only about 100 songs on it and I was hearing the same songs over and over again.

Quite frankly, they were starting to wear thin from hearing them too often.

But, I still love those songs for working out …

… I just don’t want to get SICK of them.

And there were a few songs I found myself missing, and wishing would come on while I was grinding away on the weight stack or out for a long run or intense intervals session.

So, I updated my playlist by adding in what I was missing and a few other selections that always make me want to move my body.

And THAT’s what makes a song a good WORKOUT song.

You may love it like MAD, but if it doesn’t make you want to move your body or feel more energy in your body, it just WON’T be right as a workout song.

So, now my list is about 200-ish songs.

I think I will call this one my ‘Goldilocks Mix’. It’s not too big, it’s not too small, it’s JUUUUST RIIIIGHT!!! (lol)

And, incidentally … HOW did we EVER get along with just a walkman with a self-made mixed cassette tape in it? Same 16 songs over and over with every workout? I could never do that these days. I’m too spoiled with the awesome functionality and storage capacity of my mp3 player.

But I digress. Let’s get on with wandering through my new workout playlist.

BUT FIRST, PLEASE NOTE: Some of these songs come with a STRONG parental advisory warning.

Don’t start downloading and listening around the tykes or at work … no sense scarring our future generations or getting yourself fired, right? Listen with an open mind and in a safe (for everyone) environment.

Okay, here ya go. Feel free to peruse it and see what’s in there that might be perfect for your own workout playlist.
