First Commitments Should ALWAYS Come First
I made a commitment to myself on the weekend to get a good hard workout in on Sunday because on Tuesday I wouldn’t be able to. So I changed it up so I wouldn’t have too many days off in one week.
Then a friend invited me to a late brunch on Sunday.
Did I bail on my first commitment?
Of course not! That ain’t cool.
So what if that first commitment was ‘only’ to myself? If it was a good friend I wouldn’t have bailed.
Why should I treat MYSELF any different?
I should be able to count on myself JUST as much as any of my friends should be able to count on me.
Yah, I skipped brunch.
As much as I would have loved to go and be social and eat yummy food, it just wasn’t the right thing to do, to bail on myself like that.
YOU ARE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND !
Treat yourself as such.
No bailing out on the plans you made with your best friend.
And especially not at the last minute. No matter HOW awesome the other invitation sounds.
It just isn’t cool …
Always keep your commitments. Always be good for your word. It’s the mark of a quality human being.
Listen, once you have this kinda thinking in the bag, the rest of the steps for getting in great shape just fall into place.
THEY REALLY DO !
Have a fit, fun and fantastic day.

Why would you have to go to the gym at exactly that time? You could’ve gone a little later, couldn’t you?

No, I couldn’t have. I had other things going on and I find if I don’t get the workout done first, its harder if not impossible to get it done at all when the day gets going and things get in the way. Plus there’s not much chance of getting a decent workout in with a belly full of gooey brunch food. So, no. I couldn’t have gone later. I was committed to going at that time, so off I went, as planned.
thanks for asking.
