Great vlog! So I must ask … what’s a “good run” mean for you?
November 25th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
it means it felt good, my hamstrings didn’t hurt, my brain went away into outer space and no one got in my way! and I was sweaty at the end. now THAT’s a good run! :-) I liken running to “going for a ride on my legs”… that’s what it feels like once you get good at it. I just look at the scenery and enjoy the ride!

Thank you SOOO much for this vlog! Some of the info I kinda knew already and it’s so nice to hear it confirmed. I TRIED to go Vegan a couple of times in my life, but when I learned all about Soy and how bad it was, I went back to eating meat. I buy only Organic, grass fed meat now and feel better about that. Didn’t know about the Canola Oil. Need to get that out of my house. I try very hard to stick to eating healthy, lean meats and veggies, but there are times when Pizza calls my name.
So glad your hammies are feeling good and you had a good run too! YAY!!
Oh, I am LOVING your pictures!!! Your back is just BEAUTIFUL, along with your abs (did I say all of this already?) and I LOVE your calves too. I so don’t work my calves enough and want them to be muscular. LOVE IT!!

I KNOW, right? every time you turn around it seems there’s SOMETHING else that’s bad for you… very frustrating sometimes. I really love soybeans too! but welp, sacrifices must be made if the abs are to be seen! and I’m willing to make ’em…
thanks for the note about the hammies, yah, the sitting bugs them but they’ve been bouncing back pretty good from upsets lately.. so I’m assuming they’re still on the right path to full mend.
I found some good quad pics, am sucking up to photog to colour correct them for me. I really hope he’ll do it, but I think he’s bored of me bugging him now! LOL! let’s hope anyway.

“and no one got in my way” — I like that! I haven’t been able to run since a injury-laden 1/2 at the end of September, and I MISS it!
Working through the issues … and dying to be back at it soon.

Interesting stuff-I never realised that about canola oil….glad I don’t use it :)
Jury is still out for me on the tofu though…I eat organic tofu about once a week-you’ve prompted me to do more research on it since I’ve heard mixed things about it :)
Good stuff!

Naomi, yah running on a rainy day in the middle of the day on a weekday almost always guarantees I’ll have the seawall all to myself. on a weekend I’m ducking umbrellas like mad, people still come out.. weird but one of the charms of Vancouver… we can still have fun when its raining (we have to, its ALWAYS raining! LOL)
Raechelle, yah, the word ‘canola’ is actually derived from combining the word “canada” with “oil” cuz it was invented in canada. dumbass canadians (LOL, I’m canadian btw).
:-)

Hey Jackie
Yeah I kind of got behind here, catching up. I agree, free range (or wild caught salmon) the only way to go on the meat sides.
Its been fun getting to know you, between here and Twitter. I need to associate with more health minded people like you. There is a phrase I heard (they were talking about money and business, but it applies everywhere) You’ll earn (live) pretty close to the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. So by hanging with you and some of your other blogger friends, I’m shifting my mindset from donuts and coffee (that was to funny at the end! ha) to more good fuel.
Thanks!

Heh. Reading these posts I’m finding out I’m not so far behind after all. But I have some tweaking to do in order to get these last 10 pounds off. Thanks so much for all the great info and inspiration. XOXO
