Vancouver Total Health Show
Hey everyone!!
Okay, I went to the Vancouver Total Health Show this past weekend and took my video camera like I promised I would. And I actually found a few things worthy of putting on video and sharing with you here.
I split it up into three parts because the whole thing is kind of long and thought it might be easier to digest in smaller chunks (not to mention YouTube won’t let me upload anything longer than 10 minutes!! Damn you YouTube!)
So, when I first arrived, I wandered in and found a scam almost immediately. Wow, scams really are everywhere. As well, I found some interesting stuff too, but check out this machine that’s supposed to give you an hour’s worth of working out in 10 minutes flat just by shaking the daylights out of you!! LOL
Then I found a great booth selling STEVIA, and I finally got to taste the stuff… so now I have a recommendation for you!!
Plus found some cherry syrup that I have skepticism about what they’re claiming it does, and also found some YELLOW kiwi fruits that I’m not so sure I’d eat.
Anyway, check out all the stuff I discovered here in Part One:
See what I mean about that machine? I mean really… shame on those guys, because that’s just wrong, ya know?
Anyway, on to Part Two and some more cool stuff I found while roaming around the Health Show. As usual with pretty much every Health Show, there was Soy and Soy products EVERYWHERE. Evil, EVIL stuff in my opinion, and I share my two bit opinion with you in this segment.
And, THEN I stumbled upon an Acai Berry product… and had a REALLY great time talking to these guys!! They’re product is called Monavie and while I do think their product might be a bit better nutritionally than MOST stuff out there (like those scam Acai Berry Weight Loss pills that DON’T DO ANYTHING), I kind of had fun with the first guy because he obviously had absolutely no idea what he was talking about, and couldn’t answer a single question I posed to him.
It was only when his DAD (lol) overheard me grilling his son and took over that I was able to get any real information. That was fun… I really wanted to see how far I could push the son until he admitted he had no clue but his Dad saved him, lucky guy! haha
(You’ll also notice I’ve been leaving the faces out of these interviews to protect the guilty! haha)
So anyway, after getting bored of grilling the Acai guys, I moved on and found a great booth selling coconut products like Coconut Oil, which is great for cooking.
I actually took a sample of the coconut lard (the oil in a firm state) and just ate it off a stick. It was really quite mild tasting, and while I don’t cook with oil myself, I’ll bet it adds a nice taste to things like stirfry. Its the best ‘good’ fat to cook with because it maintains its healthy properties and remains stable in higher heats which many oils do not, and its far healthier than crap like Canola oil or Crisco.
Then I wandered by a live talk about nutrition that I hung out and listened to for a little while.
Anyway, here’s all that in Part Two:
That’s more or less it for the live stuff I shot at the show, but I brought home some samples of a few things I’m going to try out, so thought I’d share them with you here in our final segment.
The wrap up! Part Three:
And, without further ado, here’s today’s Workout Song of the Day. This one is dedicated to all the scammers out there selling shaking machines that claim to work you out in 10 minutes flat, and the Acai berry weight loss pill scammers and all the rest.
Go make your money some other more ethical way and stop fleecing the unsuspecting, gullible public out of their hard earned cash (and aren’t WE glad we’re all smarter than that?)
It’s also a great song for cardio or weight training. It has a great beat and lots of angst-y emotion pouring out of it. Enjoy!
